Over the weekend, I was in Boston vending at the SOWA Open Market, and what lovely people did I meet? Well, lots. Two in particular, Alicia Cornwall and Tony Bevilacqua of Chroma Lab, were not only sincerely sweet, but their repurposed furniture is gorgeous, and well, I wish my home was filled with their colorful touch. Today, we have Five Things with Alicia and Tony (Lab Partners) of Chroma Lab. :D
1. So, Alicia and Tony, what's the cutest thing in the world?
We can answer this definitively. Our dog Cassie recently had an operation which resulted in a phantom pregnancy. She was restless for days until we got her two stuffed raccoon cubs to be her "babies." She builds them little nests, carries them everywhere, nurses them, and licks their faces. THAT is the cutest thing in the world.
2. The yummiest thing?
Alicia says the Sicilian sandwich--basil, mozzarella, tomatoes, and olive oil. A really fresh carrot can also be miraculous under the right circumstances. Tony says butternut squash ravioli.
3. A music album you think everyone should own?
Is it cheating to say the entire discography of the Talking Heads? Because that's what Alicia thinks everyone should own. Tony thinks it's the Beatles' Revolver. Can we both be right?
4. The most beautiful place (real or fiction)?
5. What would the ultimate art/studio space be like?
We'd like lots of windows and plenty of storage space along the walls. We're thinking a library-style paint storage system with ladders and card catalogs. It would be great to have a little photography studio for final product shots, and we'll also require lifts for our furniture--like parking lots in NYC. Tony humbly requests an indoor dog park. Our needs are simple, really...so when can we see the architectural models?!
Thanks again, Alicia & Tony!
